I have deep roots in Western North Carolina. I was born in Asheville, raised on a horse farm, and currently live in the Reems Creek Valley area of Weaverville close to property that goes back in my family over 150 years. I am a true local and know these mountains well.

I am a veteran of the US Navy and have traveled many parts of the world with my wife, Marie, through her father’s travel agency, Wilcox World Travel and Tours. Marie and I have two wonderful daughters. Diana is a business graduate of Appalachian State University and mother to three. Diana and her husband, Travis, own Newbridge Tire, Brake & Alignment in Woodfin, NC. Marisa is a graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College with a degree in cosmetology and mother to our newest grand-daughter. Marisa is employed by Fresh Air Spa and Salon in Weaverville, NC.

I am a family man and cherish time spent with my wife, our children, and especially our grandchildren. I am also an avid culinary hobbyist and enjoy creating high-quality aesthetic dishes. I love being in the kitchen or around the outdoor grill or smoker with family and friends. I also love digging in the dirt as gardening is a passion as well.

You might find me in the mountains hiking to a waterfall or cruising the parkway. We could be at a sporting event with one of the grandkids, or possibly in the city or another close-by small town relishing the talents of local artists, musicians, and theater. We could be dining at a world-class restaurant with our family and friends or indulging in our rapidly growing live music and brewery scene.

Over the years, God has blessed me with the distinct ability of being able to connect with people from all walks of life and demographics, and being able to look at any client's needs from their own point of view. One of my mottos has always been “If I don't have an answer; I have a large and knowledgeable team behind me that will.”
